Vaginal rejuvenation is a procedure for women looking to address vaginal laxity and similar feminine concerns. This has traditionally been done with surgery, but there are now several non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation options available. But just how does non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation compare to surgical vaginal rejuvenation.

Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation

Non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation uses laser technology to resurface the vaginal tissues. FemiLift is one of the most effective vaginal rejuvenation treatments now available. With FemiLift a special laser probe is inserted into the vagina, and delivers fractional energy that stimulates collagen formation, tightening the vaginal tissue.

Surgical vaginal rejuvenation

Surgical vaginal rejuvenation or vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure that is done to tighten the vagina by removing stretched skin. The procedure also enhances the tone and strength of the vaginal muscle.

How does non-surgical vaginal rejuvenation compare to surgical vaginal rejuvenation?

There is no downtime with FemiLift, but surgical vaginal rejuvenation requires a downtime of 4-6 weeks. Patients are advised to refrain from intercourse for up to 6 weeks after surgery, compared to 3 days after FemiLift treatment.

No incisions are required with FemiLift. The laser energy remodels the vaginal tissue, causing the collagen and elastin fibers to contract. This has an overall tightening effect on the vaginal canal.

Surgical vaginal rejuvenation is done using general anesthesia, but no anesthesia is needed with FemiLift, as the procedure is virtually painless.

The results of FemiLift last about 18 months, but the results with vaginoplasty typically last for many years.
